Tanu's Fresh Parathas

Parathas are homemade Indian flatbreads typically cooked daily to be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Parathas are made by layering and rolling dough that is then cooked on a hot griddle until it turns golden brown on both sides. They fill your kitchen with the wonderful aroma of freshly made breads with the ghee melting over.

Aloo paratha is One of the most popular paratha recipe from Punjab, India. One of the most repeated breakfast in my home is aloo paratha. Everyone loves it. Piping-hot crisp wheat flatbreads stuffed with spiced, faintly sour mashed potatoes stuffing and relished with some tangy sour mango pickle. The best part of making parathas is that you can serve them for breakfast as well pack them in the lunch box for kids. Even after some hours, the aloo paratha tastes delicious.

Onion paratha or pyaaz ka paratha is one of the popular and tasty paratha variety made in punjbai homes for breakfast. the translation of onion paratha in english would be  – whole wheat flat bread stuffed with spiced onions. For all onion lovers, these Onion parathas Are a must to have. Easy to prepare and they also make a good tiffin box snack or lunch. If you have the leftover whole wheat dough, then you can make these parathas quickly.

Paneer paratha is one of the many popular paratha varieties from Punjab. Its an all time favorite paratha at home and is served in most restaurants as well as Punjabi dhabas (road side eateries). It is always better to make your own homemade paneer – cottage cheese and use it for any paneer dish that you make. So is the case with this paneer paratha. The paneer retains its freshness and softness even when cooked.

Methi paratha is an a healthy, tasty and flaky paratha stuffed with fresh fenugreek leaves and other spices. it is an ideal flat bread recipe for lunch boxes which is heavily popular with marathi and hindi speaking community in india. This is unique paratha recipe as the leaves are not literally stuffed to the wheat balls and are mixed to the dough. later it is rolled flat like chapathi and roasted similar to any other paratha’s. hence it is also popularly known as methi roti or methi chapathi.

Gobhi (cauliflower) paratha is unleavened whole wheat flatbread stuffed with a spiced grated cauliflower filling. Gobhi paratha is often made for breakfast in Punjabi homes as well as served in restaurants and Punjabi dhabas.

Mooli paratha is a popular Punjabi whole wheat flatbread stuffed with spiced grated radish. Mooli is the Hindi word for radish. mooli paratha is served with butter or curd or pickle of your choice. They are not only delicious but also very filling.

Aloo paneer paratha Delicious, healthy, wholesome and filling breakfast recipe that everyone will love. Paratha recipes always score high as breakfast recipes and aloo paratha is the most preferred one among those. Aloo paratha recipe as base and just added crumbled paneer to it. They were good with masala dahi/ curd.

Keema Paratha is a delicious Mughlai dish that is very popular in the Northern part of India. Spicy minced mutton is stuffed in the parathas and then cooked till crispy, this one will surely satisfy your taste buds. This stuffed bread recipe is perfect if you have leftover masala kheema. Kheema parathas are traditionally served with a cooling raita and a pickle or chutney of your choice.
